Dana Stabler

Mental Health Counselor

Why I’m Here: I have built my career in service-oriented fields, including cosmetology, massage therapy, and chiropractic care. While working as a clinician in my previous role, I often felt limited in my ability to truly support the community. Ava Health aligns with my values and commitment to meaningful, community-centered care, and I’m motivated by the opportunity to make a greater impact here.

Why I’m Here:

  • I have built my career in service-oriented fields, including cosmetology, massage therapy, and chiropractic care. While working as a clinician in my previous role, I often felt limited in my ability to truly support the community. Ava Health aligns with my values and commitment to meaningful, community-centered care, and I’m motivated by the opportunity to make a greater impact here.

About Me:

  • I am motivated by serving others and have built my career around supporting people through various service-oriented roles. As a counselor, I strive to help clients navigate their past, present, and future with clarity and compassion.

Why I Do This Work:

  • I come from a family dedicated to service—military, first responders, counselors, and medical professionals. Growing up with these examples instilled in me a deep respect for purpose and resilience. Their commitment inspires my own, and I’m driven to serve our community with the same level of dedication.

What I Bring Professionally:

  • Over the last 22 years, I have served many aspects of the communities I’ve been a part of, and those experiences have shaped the person and professional I am today. In my roles as a wife, mom, friend, student, and counselor, I have gained knowledge, courage, strength, integrity, trust, compassion, and understanding. These qualities are the core values I bring to the community I serve. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health in May 2024, further strengthening my ability to support others with skill and intention.

How I Show Up at Ava:

  • I strive to support every member of our team and the community we serve. Whether I am helping someone navigate difficult emotions or work through a problem, my goal is to ensure they feel supported and connected.

The Emotional Core:

  • In the behavioral health field, I’ve witnessed a wide range of experiences—hurt, pain, and sadness. The feeling that stands out most is loneliness. I understand that feeling, and I believe that with genuine support, people can overcome even the most difficult challenges.

What Grounds Me:

  • My family is my foundation, and I draw strength from the growth and change I see in them. Outside of work, I stay grounded through reading, self-care, and creative pursuits such as arts and crafts.
