About Me:
Gandhi once said, ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world.’ This quote has always resonated with me on a deep level and played a significant role in guiding me to Ava Health. It continues to serve as a daily reminder of why I choose to show up and contribute to the work we do here.
Before joining Ava, I gained valuable experience in both for-profit and nonprofit financial environments. During that time, I specialized in building out ERP systems and managing a wide range of contracts at the county, state, and federal levels. These opportunities not only strengthened my technical skills but also deepened my understanding of how finance supports the bigger picture within any organization.
Over time, I came to realize that what I am maintaining accounting records for is just as important as how I maintain them. This perspective shifted my approach to my work and led me to seek out a company whose mission aligned with my own values. Working at Ava has given me a strong sense of purpose, knowing the financial information I help prepare directly supports an organization committed to improving the lives of others.
In my current role as a staff accountant, I work closely with our CFO to ensure our financial records are accurate, timely, and informative. Together, we strive to maintain a high level of transparency in our reporting and provide data that empowers our team in making informed decisions. We are committed to upholding Ava’s mission by holding ourselves to the highest possible standards in everything we do — from internal controls to strategic analysis.
My life isn’t all about numbers though. Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is something I actively strive for. Whether I’m playing ultimate frisbee or spending time with friends, those moments outside of work help me recharge and give me a greater appreciation for the meaningful work we do each day.
