Director of Clinical Outreach
About Me
My professional path has centered around relationship-building, community engagement, outreach, and helping individuals and families connect with the right behavioral health resources.
I have worked across healthcare, behavioral health, business development, marketing, and community outreach. Throughout my career, I have found that my greatest strength is bringing people together. I enjoy developing meaningful partnerships, learning what communities need, and finding creative ways for organizations to work together more effectively.
Personally, I am outgoing, curious, and relationship-driven. I enjoy humor, meaningful conversations, and making people feel comfortable. I was told despite my whopping height at 5’2″”, I have a 6’2″” personality!
Why I Do This Work
This work is meaningful to me because saying “yes” to someone when everyone else has said “no” can change the trajectory of that person’s life. When a person or family is experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, the healthcare system can feel overwhelming, confusing, and impersonal. I want people to know that they do not have to navigate that process alone.
This work allows me to lead from my heart and be one meaningful piece of the puzzle in someone’s recovery. Even if my role is only one small part of their journey, knowing that I helped open a door, create a connection, or guide someone toward the care they need is what makes this work so meaningful to me.
What I Bring Professionally
I bring energy, persistence, creativity, and a strong ability to build authentic relationships.
I am naturally curious and enjoy learning about people, organizations, and the communities they serve. I ask questions, listen carefully, and look for ways to connect resources that might otherwise remain disconnected.
I also bring a collaborative, strategic approach to outreach. I understand that strong partnerships are built through trust, consistency, responsiveness, and follow-through. My goal is not simply to develop referral relationships, but to create lasting partnerships that improve access to care.
How I Show Up at Ava
I show up with enthusiasm, honesty, humor, and a willingness to help wherever I am needed.
I want my colleagues and community partners to feel that they can approach me, ask questions, share ideas, and trust that I will follow through. I believe collaboration works best when people feel respected and included.
I also try to bring warmth and personality into the work. Behavioral healthcare is serious, but that does not mean we cannot create moments of connection, laughter, and joy along the way.
The Emotional Core
The first thing I tell someone who is seeking help is to give themselves GRACE. I believe in granting that permission out loud because sometimes, especially during difficult moments, we need someone else to remind us that we are allowed to pause, be imperfect, and accept help. At the core of my commitment is the belief that every person deserves dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to heal.
People are often judged by the most difficult moments of their lives. I believe our role is to look beyond those moments and recognize the whole person; their strengths, their story, and their potential.
I am deeply motivated by the idea that no one should be dismissed, forgotten, or allowed to fall through the cracks. Even when we cannot provide the exact service someone needs, we can still help them find a path forward.
What Grounds Me
What grounds me most is staying connected to the people who bring meaning, perspective, and joy into my life. I value time with close friends, traveling, experiencing new places and cultures, and staying connected with my 20-year-old daughter.
I also recharge by relaxing with my Morkie, Maddox, listening to music, spending time near the water, and finding small moments of fun in everyday life. I intentionally surround myself with people who are smarter than me because I never want to stop learning, growing, or expanding the way I see the world.
