Case Manager
About me:
I came into this industry by “accident”. I knew that I wanted to help people in some way for most of my life, I just didn’t know in what context. A few years ago, I started working as a peer support then worked my way into Case management for another recovery organization and found that it was very rewarding. I left the industry for a few months, not knowing what to do, but I just kept feeling my heart say that I belonged working in recovery. Working with people in recovery became a passion for me. I’ve always had deep compassion and empathy for people, and it always came easy for me. I have had the opportunity over the last few years to work in different areas of recovery and mental health, and I am grateful for these experiences, I learned a lot. I bring those experiences to Ava Health now, as a Case Manager. I currently have a bachelor’s degree in business administration for Management and as of last fall, I returned to college to acquire my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I hope to get my Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) certificate upon completion of my degree and be able to become a substance use counselor. I have struggled with mental health in the past and know what that feels like and hope to be able to help those struggling as well. I have lost family members to addiction and know the pain that goes along with that and want to be able to give hope to people struggling with addiction, along with their family members.
What keeps me going:
My family and friends are very important to me and help keep me grounded and happy along with my sweet cat Loca and grand dog Gunner. I also have a beautiful, adult daughter (Breonna), who is my best friend and I am very blessed to be her mom.
Ava Health:
I am so very blessed to be working at Ava, I have met some amazing people here. I get to work with some great friends and have made new great friends since onboarding as well.
