Clinical Intern
About Me:
I am originally from the Suburbs of Chicago and have resided in Aspen Colorado for the past 11 years. I earned my bachelors degree in psychology with a focus on mental health. I am currently finishing my masters degree in clinical mental health counseling where I will continue working towards more certifications in addictions.
Why I Do This Work:
This work is meaningful to me when you see how much growth everyone is capable of. Hearing stories and comments that treatment was their last choice, seeing them do the work and find their purpose. There is nothing that puts a bigger smile on my face.
What I Bring Professionally:
Professionally I bring lived experience in both mental health and addiction while also seeing it run through my family growing up. I also hold certifications and degrees in the fields of mental health and addictions.
How I Show Up at Ava:
I show up with positivity, empathy, and an endless mount of compassion. I am just as much of a human as every other individual who walks through these doors. Meeting everyone with where they are at is my number one priority’s
The Emotional Core:
My biggest belief is that we all have struggles that not everyone knows about. Be kind to one another, respect one another and everyone’s stories. The work is hard, and will forever be ongoing, but it is WORTH it! Everyone deserves another chance no matter how many times one falls down.
What Grounds Me:
What grounds me is being in the outdoors. I have horses and there is nothing more peaceful than spending time with them and riding. Nature is truly healing! “
