Admissions Counselor

Why I’m Here: Too many systems are inaccessible, confusing, and fundamentally broken. I’m here to be a part of something different: an accessible, supportive, and easy to navigate program. Seeking recovery is hard enough and I’m here to help make the process easier and less scary.

About Me:
Behavioral healthcare is a field I have wanted to be a part of since I graduated high school. As a teen, I did not quite know where I would eventually fit in, but I did know that I wanted to help others and make a difference in their lives. Today, I am a passionate mental health professional who is currently in a Master of Social Work program with a goal to support clients from intake to discharge and beyond.

Why I Do This Work:
I do this work because I believe quality mental health care is should not be a privilege. Getting the right support shouldn’t be another barrier to overcome. Every person deserves support that feels authentic, hopeful, and possible.

What I Bring Professionally:
Professionally, I bring five years of behavioral health admissions experience in eating disorders, substance-use, and mental health as well as experience serving communities utilizing affordable housing.

How I Show Up at Ava:
I show up with an open-mind, respect for autonomy, and a commitment to treat others with dignity and empathy.

The Emotional Core:
My commitment to this work is rooted in both personal experience and a belief in the importance of compassionate, accessible mental health care. We live in a complex and often painful world, and my own experiences with mental health struggles became a catalyst for entering this field. Having experienced mental health care as both a client and a provider, I understand the vulnerability involved in seeking support as well as the responsibility of providing it.

What Grounds Me:
My favorite self-care practice is getting lost a book, being around loved ones, and an abundance of sweet treats at my disposal.
